From right to left....I'm only hitting the highlights, ps

Satisfaction, By Kim Cattrall and Husband - Interesting book, picked it up based on her name alone, but it was kind of disappointing. Mostly basic level, but there were a few interesting positions in there, found my wife's favorite in there. Worth looking through if you find a copy, but not worth the price to buy.

Supersex, Tracey Cox - Lavishly illustrated, and wonderfully designed book. It's very pretty, and fun to read. Has a fair bit of good information in it, about the most worthwhile of the books on the shelf.

The Sex Lives of Teenagers, Lynn Ponton - Interesting sociological study on teenagers and how they view their own sexuality.

Fast Girls, Emily White - Another book on teens, but this one is on the slut mentality that so permeates grade school. Fascinating stuff.

The Sexual Life of Catherine M., Catherine Millet - Sexual Autobiography of a prominent and promiscuous french art critic.

The Happy Hooker, Xaviera Hollander - Autobiography of a hooker and Madam. Good Stuff.

My Secret Garden, Nancy Friday - A collection of female fantasies. Some amazing stuff in there, very startling to a guy. Worth reading by every man.

Fast Food Nation, Eric Schlosser - Stunning indictment of the fast food industry. Takes everything everyone has been talking about for decades about fast food and pushes it into the limelight. Don't read while eating, esp not eating FF. lol.

In a Sunburned Country, Bill Bryson - hilarious travelogue of Aussie-land. I'm reading his Notes From a Small Island now.

Inviting Disaster, James R. Chiles - Takes apart a number of crashes, failures, etc, and looks at them piece by piece and talks about what went wrong and how. Absolutely riveting read. Includes a chapter about the twin towers and why they fell on 9/11.

Noah's Flood, William Ryan - Discusses a theory about the flooding of the Black Sea through the Bosporus and the evidence he and colleagues had come up to support it. He believes that this flood was the origin of the Gilgamesh/Noah's Flood myth. First half is good, second half is boring as all get out.

The Whole Shebang, Timothy Ferris - Summary of current beliefs in Cosmology.

The Female Circumcision Controversy, Gruenbaum - Left over from my Cultural Anthropology class, but made such a mark I wanted to keep it. Discusses female circumcision in terms of the cultures where it is common. Everyone should read this book, I feel.

The Making of a Chef, and the Soul of a Chef, Michael Ruhlman - I guess I have Sabine to thank for these, in a roundabout way. She introduced me a couple years ago to Anthony Bourdain's Kitchen Confidential, which hooked me in fast. These are similiar, though they mark a reporters transition into chefhood. Fascinating reads for foodies. He's an excellent writer, though I would only recommend these to foodies. Anthony Bourdain's was better. I have a copy of it and A Cook's Tour, not sure where they are though...

From the Top Down....

And The Water's Turned to Blood, Rodney Barker - A history of the discovery of Pfisteria in the coastal and inland waters off of North Carolina. Worth a read if you ever liked The Hot Zone, or books like that.

Diamond, Matthew Hart - One of my favorite books, a history and description of the diamond industry from mining to selling. Absolutely wonderful, and very hard to put down. I paid 13$ I think for it, and well well worth it.

Lies My Teacher Told Me, James Loewen - A book on history as it is taught in most high schools. Very interesting, but a little dry. He takes several cases, including Columbus, and Helen Keller, and discusses how HS history textbooks tweak history to make it boring and patriotic. I know my HS history class was not taught like this. If you're a history buff, then this is a big book for you.

Corpse, Jessica Snyder Sachs - A book on forensic Pathology. Again, fascinating stuff lol.

Depending on whether or not people enjoy this sort of thing, I would encourage other people to post shelves and pocket reviews...I'm always looking for new books. I might post some more if anyone is interested.

I just read the FAQ for this forum, and well, it doesn't exactly meet it. I apologize if it is deemed unworthy, I just figured since I was trying to share some books, it would fit.

Ah, I see you also have the Idiot's Guide to Pornography.

Very handy.

non fiction - This is a very good paper called The Gallileo Affiar regarding how the steady decline of the Galileo's relationship with the church. It seems a little skewed, but it's an enlightening interpretation.

You have a thing for slutty teenagers.
