My trip to the Asylum

Well folks I just got out of the nut hut to day what an experience that was. Last weak 10/27/00 I got one of my usually migraine headaches but this one I had for about three days it started on the 25. And so I started popping pills. Well the pills didn't work so I called my neurologist and got him to call me in some stadol which is a powerful pain killer and it'll usually work to get rid of my headaches well this time it did not work so I went to go see my regular doctor and he gave me a shot of morphine but I still did not get rid of the headache. So I went home and started eating more pills so after fifty xanax and thirty or forty finoral and I used all of the stadol I finally passed out. Well my wife came home and tried to wake me up and evidently she tried for about thirty minutes I finely came to lone enough to walk to our car and she loaded me in and off to the ER we went. Well they pumped my stomach full of charcoal and gave me a shot of something to block the narcotics and the next time I woke up I was in the ICU of a local mental hospital. And I still had a headache so being that they would not let me out to go get more drugs I pitched one hell of a fit after all I have been on these prescription drugs four (barbiturates) about the last four years so lets just say the withdrawals I was having where not fun. Anyway after keeping two security guards at bay with a big wooden chair along with five of the hospital staff they finally called a Doctor to get me something to ease the withdraw (thorizine and Librium) which made me happy it knocked my ass out for a few more hours that was on Monday I was in a coma for two days over the weekend. Well after they got the withdraw systemptions under control I was let out of ICU to mingle with the rest of the nuts. You know it's really boring in a mental hospital
And they would not let me have my laptop so I had to find other ways to keep my self amused. So if any of you guys ever get into a nut hut I would just like to share some of the things I did to keep myself occupied.

1. Find some one that is severely depressed and start a conversation with them about how awful life is.
2. Find other junkies and talk with them about how fun it would be to have whatever their drug of choice is.
3. Find someone with bipolar disorder and start acting real hyper then act real depressed.
4. Seek out some one with an eating disorder and have lunch with them if they are over eaters and are on a diet eat all that you can in front of them. And for the anorexics eat all you want and then tell them you are going to go back to your room and puke.
5. Get into the nurses station and take over the hospitals network. (They still haven't figured out what the MIRC icon is)
6. And this one was my favorite find a scizitofrantic and whisper in their ears.

Well I am still detoxing from some of the drugs but I have to admit it was an interesting experience. And one I will not forget for a while (and nether will the hospital staff) I now have to attend these drug-counseling sessions and go to AA/NA for the next six weeks. But let me tell ya about having charcoal pumped into your stomach damn I shat charcoal beckets for three days and it fucking hurt. But it was kind of fucked up when I was sitting in a drug therapy group and I would get asked "Mr. Yates what are you in here for" and I would reply I had a headache.

I am feeling a lot better though althouge the craveings for tha dope havent gone away yet every time some one asks me what I well have in my coffe I reply to them "morphine" and for some reason thay just dont see the humor in that hummm? and Emerald
