Apparently one that will work in england, even though i'll be using it in the US for the next couple of months. Anybody know of a good cell phone that I can get wireless internerd on and take with me to use in engrand?

To operate in england you need a GSM phone.

I think AT&T might be the only us carrier using gsm.

As for the internet thing, most decent upper level phones these days have internet, I know mine does but surfing the asylum on a tiny screen like that pretty much sucks, not to mention I think the connection speed is somewhere around 14.4

At&T and its affiliates carry GSM phones. So if you look around on their websites and on providers in the UK you can find a common phone and use that.

The wireless internerd on my motorola was alright--yeah, it's slow, but it's also text-only, and IIRC there's no as much delay as you'd find with an analog modem because the signal is digital and you're on a packet-switched rather than circuit-switched network.

Usually you get better service and cheaper rates if you buy a pay as you go G3 phone in the UK. Will be around 80 quid. Cheaper than getting a US service provider for UK coverage.

...... euro type countries have prepaid packages that you can throw into your phone, not sure if limeyland does, but I can't see why not.

Cheapest way to go if you're going to be in a country for a while in some circumstances. For example if I take a Dutch mobile over the border and someone rings me from within Holland, the caller pays for the call as far as the border and I get billed for the rest.

I just signed up for T-Mobile, and they also use GSM phones.
