The US was killed by the Italians in an Olympic basketball scrimmage today. What pathetic bullshit. The damned 800 million dollar NBA stars don't care about winning the Gold anymore, so we have to send 3 rookies to start for our Olympic basketball team.

It looks like our Olympic basketball streak (50-0 since pro's were allowed to play) might come to an end this year.

So, not sending their full national teams (although they still have some great players); they are still professional, though. British people have little interest in football at the Olympics because we don't send a team (I think because sending a Great Britain and Northern Ireland team would look bad in light of the fact that we compete in internationals as 4 teams, and have 4 seats on some important board or other, one for each 'country').

I guess that it would be a period of time where they had to play hard for basically no dough, in a competition that is one-sided because no other country of any size plays basketball with such enthusiasm (Croatians and others love it, but there aren't many of them). There is no international pro basketball scene to speak of.
