our first sensory overload project: cd vine

welcome one and all, to the first ever asylum cd vine. this is a project that has been under long debate among the mods and admins, so please behave yourselves!

what is a cd vine, you ask? well, simply put, a cd vine is a thread where people share music of some sort by sending cd's to those who join the vine. some vines are specific, like the tori amos vines that share live shows. the person who starts the thread posts the show they have, and the next person to post gets the cd first. they make their copy, then send the original on to the next person who posted. it ends when the last person sends the cd back to the starter. in the case of live tori shows, it is completely legal to share them since she has publicly stated that she condones bootlegging her shows.

however, we all have different tastes, so i don't want to confine the thread to a specific music genre. instead, i propose that we make mix cd's and vine them out. the first person to post after me gets a mix cd from me, and by participating, they have to make a mix cd for the person who posts after them. get it?

the idea is to be creative and make something that will share with the recipient a portrait of who you are in music. and if you have artistic talent, maybe you can dress up the packaging as well.

wanna play? good! keep these ground rules in mind:

1. do not ask for specific music! trading mp3's is illegal, mmmk?

2. all talks of trading must be kept out of the forum. if you don't want to post your email address for someone to send you info outside of the forum, don't participate.

3. if for some reason you can't fulfill your part of the bargain, don't be a dick. post that you've dropped out so the vine can continue.


that's it, folks. post in here if you want to join, don't post in here if you just want to say "that's cool" or "that's fucking lame". i will be HEAVILY editing this thread for responses like that, and i'm sure that the admins will be watching to ensure that nothing is said that could threaten the integrity of the site.
