As in new styles of music? It seems hip hop was the last big movement, and it was so bare bones and imitative of other forms that nothing could possibly come after it. All there is left to do is expose the largely white culture to foreign types of music.

It's cool, but it's not severely more original than using a symphony orchestra. It's more a gimmick than a new style.

Cello's are pretty similar in sound to electric guitars as it goes.

Found that out after trying for a few hours to mimic a cello for this band I was auditioning for, before I read the small print......

..........cello on ****** played by ******.

And Apolyptica are pretty much a one listen to combo, after all Metallica write shit songs with crap meoldies.

ive given up ont he music INDUSTRY because they are the ones responsible for the bubblegum bullshit thats been perpetuated like the whole jessica simpson phenomena.

im mostly listening to foreign ethnic music lately (like sitar music....ravi shankar rocks ) and trying to find other genres that i never really listened to before. i am kind of hooked on teh black eyed peas since i saw them in saturday night live. fergie is fuckin hot and she has the voice of an angel!

Jazz is the only truly original music of the past hundred years. Everything else is a variation of swing and bluegrass.

Or you could look at it from the perspective that artists are attempting to do something new with the same format. Maybe you are looking in the wrong places. Let's face it, there really is no new art after the Renaissance, though we continue to say there is.

Or maybe you're just plum, and that's the problem.
