the path to self-improvement...steady strain on all lines
Some people seem to believe that self-improvement is a waste of time. I disagree--but the way to go about it is not in spasms but by setting tiny goals and achieving them one by one. Hence, the nautical metaphor in the title of the thread.
I've noticed that a lot of people on Asylum have lately posted about wanting to improve this or that. So, I propose for people to pick areas in which they want to improve, and then set goals. PM them to me or post them here and I'll put them in a spreadsheet, which RiZZ has graciously agreed to host (it will be in some openoffice-compatible format).
This way people can offer support, tips, etc.
Let's set the check-dates at 1 week, 2 weeks, 1 month, 2 months, and then 3 months (around New Year's). Maybe if it helps you could think of it as an early start on New Year's resolutions.
Any takers?
