Why is it it seems every time I go out to a bar a fight breaks out one way or the other? Prime example tonight. I haven't gone out for a few in months now. A friend had stopped in and asked if I'd like to go to the bar for a drink or two. Seeing as Sammy had fallen asleep and my roomies kid was in bed, my roomie said he had no problem watching the kids while I step out...

So... I figure why not. It will only be for a bit because I still had errands I needed to do but I thought it would be nice and relaxing.. We started our first beer and decided to play keno. I played my favorite numbers and won $23. When I cashed it in the bartender rang it up and I had accidently given her the ticket so she rang up two more games on my card. No big deal really although I doubted my numbers would show again.

We had started our second beer and decided to have a cigerette break. Reminder you I live in a small town and the bar is a stone's throw away from my place. My friend left his change of about $18 on the bar, I placed my ticket on top of it and we went to the smoking area. We had always done this before never with a problem. I had played in a band and done gigs at the bar before.

While we were in the smoking room two guys came in and everyone could tell they were pretty drunk..one of their friends had actually fallen out of the car and decided to stay there while the other two came in to drink. They took our seats and waited for the bartender.
I asked my friend about his money but he didn't seem so worried because it had never been a problem before. People trust one another around here and don't worry about such things. We finished our cigerette and returned to the bar. The two guys were still there so we were going to collect our money and ticket and move to a near by table. When we got to the bar his money was gone and my ticket was thrown aside.

My friend asked the guy who was in his spot where the money was gone, it had been right there on the bar. He just said 'I don't know' and looked at his friend with the hat on. Then I asked 'Do you know?' His friend said "I didn't take the friggin money bitch!" and poured himself a drink from the pitcher of beer he just ordered.
So I said" It didn't just grow legs and walk away ."
He told me to 'fuck off' and slammed the pitcher onto the bar. I don't know why but my first response was 'thieving liar!' which I had said out loud.

He got mad and swung his arm causing the pitcher to go flying behind the bar. He then proceeded to clear off the bar top of the rest of the drinks and stuff before he turned around. My friend grabbed my arm and pulled my behind him before the guy finished his stupidity. There had been a lady walking past and he decided to push her and called her a cunt. The guys she was with jumped up and tryied to withstrain him..He told them to fuck off and began flipping tables and barstools as his drunken friend headed toward the door.. One of the other guys told him to relax and he started swinging with resulted in an bar fight.

The guys made it out to the car and the others inside decided to grab a pen and jot down the license. He said 'those guys are too drunk to drive and shouldn't be behind a wheel. The other two guys *found out they were medics later* stepped out to talk to the guys.. The driver was the second most drunk and the guy with the hat sat in the back. They tried to talk to him and told them they would pay for a cab for them all if they wouldn't drive tonight because they were too drunk. The driver was listening and agreeing when the guy with the hat jumped out of the car and clenched his fists and headed toward the medic. Just then a police car pulled in blocking his car and the hatted guy took off running down the sidewalk towards the river. I seen the cop smile which made me chuckle.. I don't know why.

The cop talked to the driver and before long another cop showed up with the guy with the hat in the back..The two worst drunk were told to lock the doors and walk away and come get the car tomorrow.The owner who lives behind the bar came over and asked what the hell was going on. I told him the guy took my friends money so he asked the guy if he'd give us the money back. I don't know what the guy said but I heard the owner say 'go to jail then fucker' as he reached in his wallet to replace the money. My friend declined it and told him thanks anyway and we left.

I have been home for nearly an hour and have seen more cop cars and heard an ambulance siren which sounded as if it stopped nearby. I didn't go back to see but I sit and wonder.WTF? Are people really that friggin stupid? And what is this world coming too?

T..laying low for awhile in case the guy is pissy and remembers my face. I think I did right calling an ace and ace.

That was my thought too at first..but like I said. He had done that time and time again never with a problem before. I don't know..It just feels like trust is hard to be found anymore.. even small cities.

First off woman.... What the fuck happened to the asylum in 202life??? One day it is living and breathing the next thing i know it has disappeared faster than a 2 tonne donut in an ethoipian village.


Anyway.... As for your post here.... In future i would suggest disposing of the pleasantries of calling the guy who stole your money a 'thieving liar' and just get down to brass tacks and shove a beer glass forcefully into his face. When he is on the floor choking on blood and plegm, stamp on his nuts a few times and then jump on his head till he goes all still. Then parade about the bar screaming 'You want sum! You want sum!' while throwing your arms in the air. Do this until the police come and shoot you in the spine with a tazer gun and drag you from the joint crying like a 4 year old. Thats what I'd do.

I wrote rj the day the asylum went off the server.. He's been busy in real life settling in and missed the bill due date. I offered to pay it and keep it going but I haven't heard back from him since 7/31

I'm afraid of commitment I fear but needed some shagging. Although I honestly can't do that either..It's the stuck between rock and hard place for now.

I've often found it funny when people start fights in what is obviously a "locals" bar. They tend to get their asses handed to them quite well before the cops show up to haul them off.

Back home in Chicago, depending on where you go, there is either nothing but bar fights, or it's totally peaceful.

Here in Norfolk, they have to have cops in the bars to break up fights...it's like an assumption that people are going to get sloppy drunk, start stupid fights, etc. Maybe it's because there's so many military here. Military guys are stupid.

I got a friend that frequents bars once a week. She likes to start trouble for it's pure entertainment to them. I mean it only took one scuffle before everyone joined in the fiasco. Call me a retard but to me,bars are for having fun and getting wooped then going home laughing about it. I bet the next day the guy that stole the money forgot all about it.
Y'all were classy about it. I would have started trouble simply because they took your chairs.
