Better scans than what I put in the Random News thread. The movie is definitly looking up. Release date is the last weekend in June, I believe (2 days after Spielberg's War of the Worlds".

p.s. Mallrats has totally fucked up my ability to think about the Fantastic Four. Everytime I see pictures of this movie, the first thing that pops into my head is Brody, exasperated, asking "Is his dork made of orange rock like the rest of him?"

Those pictures look fake (highly photochopped). I really don't think this movie is going to be any good. Though I always thought the Fan4 were a bunch of panzies.
Doctor Doom I hope is the villain, it's about all that could save the picture for me. I just want my X-men (new movie every year!)

Thank you. Maybe they should have cast a black man for the role.

First comic I ever got was a Fantastic Four one. They have a special nostalgic quality for me.
Though, now that you mention it, a black man would have been better for Ben Grimm, though Michael Chiklis is a pretty badass guy to get in the role.

Ha. When I said that, my first thought "of course, everybody's thinking of Michael Clarke Duncan, because he's the only big black guy around".
No, one of the things about Ben Grimm is he was always a very morose, introspective, very involved character. Just having a big black guy play him because he's got the build wouldn't work either (though Duncan can probably do morose and introspective, point being the primary consideration in who would play him isn't just "okay, we need a big black guy", there's more to the character than just the build).

I watched Super Friends as well; it was certainly a step up from the train wreck that was the Fantastic Four cartoon.
Although the new Cartoon Network Justice League stuff, even at its worst, is worlds better than either.

I'd like to see 'em do a movie on Kamandi, The Last Boy On Earth.
Jack Kirby was the man. Fourth World.
Amen.
