Three Stars.

A step down from South Park: The Movie, but not a huge step. Not uproarious, but very funny in spots.

Funny songs. Funny use of obscenity. Social satire more clever than funny.

The climatic soliloquy is possibly the most accurate (and most sympathetic) summary of the Bush Doctrine I've seen in a while.

Bad: poorly paced, with too many attempts to satire every aspect of Bruckenheimer when it would have been a better movie had they left twenty minutes of that stuff out.

On the whole, I'm glad that Stone and Parker are making films; their stuff is consistently more original and interesting than most of what Hollywood puts out, or even than most Indies, frankly.

It makes absolutely clear that he willfully misunderstood the thing because it didn't tell him what he wanted to hear. The movie has two very specific points of advocacy; it is ANYTHING but nihilistic. Ebert's most unprofessional piece of writing ever.

This movie was hilarious, not as funny as SP the movie, but if you understood the jokes, it was highly entertaining. They spared no one, especially the actors. The song about Pearl Harbor had me almost in tears, ps. wait for the credits and you get a new song.

I saw it opening night, and loved it. The songs were great, I'd like to see all the scenes that got cut about bush/kerry, hopefully they'll be on the dvd at least. As far as the Stone Parker movie scale goes, I'd put this after Cannibal; The Musical and Baseketball, but before Orgazmo and South Park the movie.

So, I saw it this evening.

It was pretty good. Nowhere near South Park Bigger Longer and Uncut, which was a four star movie, and while there were a few big laughs, it was mostly giggle-worthy. More silly than anything.

I'd give it three stars, as it was entertaining, but I don't think it as swoon worthy as some.
