art school
after 3 semesters of college i decided to switch my major to fine arts. i was first an architecture major, then a technical communication major, now fine arts with concentration on graphic design. i've done graphic design as a hobby for almost 4 years now, and i can't think of anything i'd rather do for a living.
anyway, i had taken generic art classes before, many years ago, but i was never really into it until just recently.
so i'm in my second semester as an art student now, and really loving it.
anyway, here's some of the (academic) work that i've done for these two semesters:
FIRST SEMESTER
this is my first real still life that i ever drew. graphite. 18"x24"
my first time ever using charcoal pencils. 18"x24"
here's a process shot of that yarn. it took like a week of classes to finish it.
my first portrait (although it's obviously drawn from a photograph). graphite, 18"x24"
the model's face is all weird in this one because i had to do that part at home. it was supposed to be a 2 day assignment, but the model was sick the 2nd day, so we were kinda screwed, and had to finish it from our heads.
18"x24" conte (sanguine and sepia) and charcoal

textures assignment - had to texture a black and white photograph with flat and stylized textures.
14"x14", ink
