Bah. When you go down south it seems that ghosts are a dime a dozen. So many old homes are haunted, or people claim they are, that a little ghost here or there doesn't even interest me.
In fact, my family has friends in Tx who live in an old (haunted) farmhouse. Every time I go, I sleep in "the ghost room". This room contains a picture that fell along with another framed one. The newer one with thicker, non rounded glass broke, whereas the more fragile one didn't. But hell, that could have been co-incidence. She said that there was something else... something to do with keys and how they moved, but I don't remember that story.
Luckily, her ghost isn't a nasty one. This ghost LOVES to move things. Not a lot, but just a bit. Enough so that you know "hey, I didn't put that there", but not so much that you can't find your wallet in the morning. I was skeptical, having not seen or heard anything any time I had slept there, but found myself talking out loud to it every night, just telling it that I would likely be upset if it woke me, so please let me sleep.
My dad, however, saw a small container of coffee he had purchased (that was sitting on a couple of coats on a chair) jump up and off the coats. He is the most skeptic one of our family, so, it was surprising to hear that from him. He KNEW that the coffee could not have jumped the way it did without some kind of supernatural explanation. I suspect jumping beans. We were awfully close to Mexico.
My mom's old house in Grosse Point MI wasn't really haunted regularly, but she DID see a ghost once. Unfortunately it was not long after she made some kind of comment like "You'll be dead before you... do (whatever it was... spring cleaning, or something). Less than a week later, she saw the ghost, and found out the woman had died.
Kinda freaky, eh?
I believe in ghosts, and I don't mind them, as long as they don't corrupt my life to the extent that it gets thrown off-balance... more than it already is.
Selling a ghost on E-bay though? What the heck? How do you make a ghost leave? It's not possible, and I suspect that if ghosts are real, that kid's going to be mighty disappointed and untrusting of his mother, who's probably living the rich life at this point.
