Our obnoxious leader.
I find him disgustingly smug and very onoxious about it.
Most of this speeches make a point of making everything seem like it's Him v. the rest of america. When he says things like "I am going to do such and such, even though some people may not agree with me."
He acts like he thinks he's smarter than everyone else, like he's the only sane one.
When he speaks, he acts like a 12 year old.
And he seems to be trying to drive a wedge between himself and everyone else in politics.
"No Child Left Behind will work, if congress doesn't water it down." Right, because you're more in touch with the people than congress, who, I don't know, represent the people far more directly than you (in theory, at least).
Good thing we have this great champion of the people, who is "reaching out to members of both political parties."
Woohoo!
I wish he wouldn't giggle so self righteously whenever he makes a point.
He's just an asshole.
That's all.

Me too. As a matter of fact, I think I'll reread that just to make sure it isn't. It could be a form of clever code.

No, I just haven't really payed attention to him since the election. It's sort of a re-revelation.

I just don't attack his policy at the moment. It's like, I've totally decided just to single something out that bugged me today. I've already, in other threads, attacked whatever policy of his that I don't agree with and am informed enough to.

What he should have said was "No Child Left Behind would work, if I had the money to fund it or if I gave a fuck about edumakation. Children need to learn to lead with their gut, not with facts from some dirty old textbook from back when I was a cheerleader in 1972. The way I see it is that if it doesn't wrok we should blame congress because we republicans don't have any control of congress or any arm of government right now that deserves the blame for anything. I make no mistakes, ergo I am blameless."
"Psst.. Mister President."
"Yeah Karl?"
"I made sure we do control congress - and pretty much every arm of government right now. Find something else to blame, quick."
"IT'S KARL'S FAULT!"
"I was going to suggest September 11, sir."
"Sorry Karl. It's just politics."
