This is a logo (term?) that I threw together for my son's video "company": Lightning Fire Productions. I'm just learning.
Broadband is a plus.
It may be lame, but it's a start. It also learned me enough to make my Paint vid.

I would take out the little flicker of fire at the base of the tree. The rectangle outline of the gif stands out like a sore thumb. The lightning looks cool and thre tree going up in flames looks good. I don't think you really need the "flicker" in between the two. I think it would look better going straight from the lightning to the tree going up.

Yeah, I noticed that right away and I think you are right about taking it out. This was just the prototype and soon after finishing it my boy Enron lost interest in his little film studio. Damn kids.
