Today, when I was being fooled by Wonder's Joke, I started Thinking about creating an asylum away from the asylum...
a repeat of the Migration event from the stile project if you will.
I thought about what good ideas on this site that should be incorporated into the new one, and what I would change.
This is a rough list of what I came up with:

=>
2 Forums: all that would be needed for the slow start of the site.
- a TLF-esque one. Anything (legal) goes
- a PdM-Esque one. Civil discourse and work-safe content only
Bannable offences should be restricted to hacking the site and illegal activities only.

In the beginning, the only difference between the two forums would be the code of conduct imposed. Threads violating the PdM-esque one would just be moved to the TLF-esque one. Assuming that activities increase, more forums would be created to divide threads by content as per the asylum today.

=>
Features: 90% of the gadgets that exist on the asylum today. It works great overall and is very user friendly.
Tweaks:
- some kind of custom point system (custom points viewed on a seperate page), with slightly different default point types.
- Animated weather for all seasons
- Forum-specific Banners as part of the banner mix
- Blog Options (for the pundits types and exhibitionists)
- asylum-red-esque color scheme as default (hehe)
- Readers assign thread catagories (Porn, Flaming, political, etc.) as the thread evolves. Multiple categories apply. These catagories should be incorporated into the seach Function
- Moderating rules. Moderator status can be revoked by a group of members through some predetermined procedure.
- Database of links to downloadable gadgets/nifty stuff.

So, as it seems that our beloved site leaders will not mutate into Stile-clones just yet, I have no urgent need to labour on an asylum away from the asylum anyway.
