So.... when is "enough" enough? While there may be a small percentage of these professional athletes that are underpaid bt the standards of their sport, I tend to wonder when enough is enough. When you have such exorbitant salaries among the difrferent sports and leagues, it is hard for the common citizen to really feel any empathy for these players. Salaries are going up to such extremes that you can't afford to take your family to a game. Now, I didn't say the owners were guiltless in this but the players salaries are a bigger chunk of higher prices. One example is baseball. In 1999, their average salary passed the 1.7 MILLION dollar mark! To play a game. Now how do they expect the common citizen to relate to or sympathise with that? Basketlball medians are over a million per year and football is the closest to being sane. Looking at this site it shows their are quite a few players making the league minimums; which are still in the low to mid 6 figures.
I've had it. I'm going to stick to college ball. At least until such time they start drawing a salary (which I'll bet is in the not-to-distant future.)
