House/Apartment temperature settings

After the unqualified success of my earlier boring threads, here and here, I ask: what temperature settings do you have in your house?

Winter: 72 F (22C) during the day. At night, I turn the heating off and it tends to fall to about 60F (16C) by morning.

Summer: 80F (27C) during the day. AC turned off at night, tends to rise to about 85F (29C) and then fall to about 70F by morning.

My office: 74 in winter, 78 in summer.
Home: when I'm hot, I open a window.

When the gas was still turned on, 70 during the day, 60 at night.

Now it's a matter of running a electric space heater till it's sorta cold as opposed to totally freezing my balls off.

Something like that.

If the electric gets cut (knock on wood) I'll be forced to use the fireplace. One that I'd like to add hasn't been lit since sometime before ww2 and was boarded up till just a couple of months ago.

Here they can't shut off your heat no matter how much you owe.

When the wife is home from her business travels I like to build a nice big crackling fire in our fireplace and sit right in front of it to cool off.

chimney fire!
it's usually 54 F when it's cold and 64 F when it's warm . . . unless it's warmish outside, when it can get up to a balmy 68 in here.

No quite the opposite; she has ice water in her viens and doesn't want to risk it melting.
Also, aside from her dad, she is the cheapest person on the face of this earth. I have paid an estimated 10k$ over the last several years to rectify situations wherein she "saved" money.

Hey Smug, while you're being a really interesting type of guy could you make up a little chart with all the temperatures and their conversions into Fahrenheit/ Celsius?

Turn the heating up to ±18 Celsius, gets warmer in summer.

(F - 32) * 5/9 = C
C * 9/5 + 32 = F

now do the math, ye lazy bastard.

More than likely so. Chimney swifts have been at the chimney at least since I was a kid so I bet it's packed full. (Used to see them circling over the house in a swarm every year, taking turns diving into the damned thing.) I'm just hoping that I don't have to go that route. Last thing I want to do is have to clean out 65 years worth of nests and birdshit in the freezing cold.

Come to think of it, I don't want to do that even if it was summer.

our rotten freak of a landlord won't let us use the perfectly good woodstove in the living room, for fear of chimney/roof fire. of course he won't do anything about that possibility, for instance, fix the damn chimney. nooooo, instead we get to either freeze or pay outrageous heating bills.

Dingle should code a nice conversion calculator in.

You could always get the house insulated and hand the receipt over to the landlord instead of rent.
