Watch out college, here I come!

Because I'm completely shameless and I love to bore you all with the details of my life, this thread will be dedicated to telling you guys which colleges have accepted me.

First on the list, the University of Washington!

That's an absolutely lovely campus -- my fiance went there, and he has one of those coffee table books a relative gave him upon graduation. One of my doctoral advisors received her PhD at UW as well, and she's spectacularly awesome in all ways.

Remember.
Everyone in college wants to fuck you hard.
Listen to Avril Lavigne songs and live by it.

Great picture, Hawley

I haven't chosen UW yet! It's actually pretty low on my list- not cause of the academics or setting, but because I want to keep movin'.

Talking Interesting reading for you...

OK, if you don't want to party your fucking ass off in New Orleans, then I thought I'd bring it upon myself to paste what I think is something worth reading (from www.pubclub.com). Enjoy and hope this aids you in your decision-making in an academically bright future!

TOP 10 PARTY SCHOOLS

1.) Texas. There's a bar called The Library, so you can really tell mom and dad you were at The Library all night! And it's just one of many places on Sixth Street in awesome Austin (check out our weekend on Lake Travis). Add in 60,000 students and this place is no bum steer.

Austin's rocking Sixth Street bars pack in the party-minded Longhorns.

2.) Florida State. Most games are at night, which means people spend their day getting primed for kickoff (and beyond). There are few dates in the stands, mostly just single people looking for fun. At FSU, not all the scoring is done on the field.

3.) Florida. The stadium is called "The Swamp," and the town of Gainesville is a good place to get swamped.

4.) Arizona. Are the students and alumni "Zonies" or not? At any rate, they are usually in a party zone. Plus, it's in close proximity to arch-rival Arizona State, another great place to socialize.

5.) Alabama. There used to be a joint in town in an old train car that served a drink called The Derailer. It was everything clear at the bar plus a splash of soda. Mike Price would have loved the place. Bars are open well into the morning, even drawing in Mississippi State students from nearby Starkville. Plus, T-town has the best ribs anywhere, the appropriately-named Dreamland (5535 15th Ave. E. Jerusalem Heights, south of Skyland Boulevard, 205-758-8135).. Alabama is also The Bartender's alma mater.

6.) San Diego State. Young and fun and right on the Southern California coast. Does anyone here really want to graduate? See our San Diego Party Guide.

7.) UCSB. Technically, UCSB stands for "University of California Santa Barbara." Students, on the other hand, say it means "U Can Study Buzzed." It's also the country's only campus with its own beach. Party Central is Del Playa Drive in Isla Vista.

8.) Wisconsin. It's a beautiful campus right on a lake with a weekly Thursday night outdoor student bash. What a way to prep for the many campus-close bars!

9.) Georgia. Two bands – the B52s and REM – are from Athens-town. The frat party scene is awesome and the city is the very essence of a Southern college town. The football team plays "tween the Hedges" (though we could do without that mascot).

10. )Penn State. Friendly people and a town perfectly set up to party. No wonder it's called "Happy Valley." Bonus points for the fact the football team plays in Beaver Stadium.

I spent a week there with a buddy that was a Badger. I don't remember most of the trip but the pictures look like we had a riot.

Those top 10 party school lists are crap. LSU hasn't shown up on them in years. I call shenanigans. Only LSU can make you change majors four times and graduate in 6 years.

Yeah, and where is IU-Bloomington and SIU-Carbondale, both proud homes of infamously destructive riots during party weekends?

I took classes at UMass and Hampshire. Hampshire's Halloween Party is not to be missed (the Ribbon Lady is legend) and Biology of Cancer (the course I took at UMass) is one of the best classes I've ever had, taught by one of the best professors I've ever had the pleasure to learn from (Alby Reiner).

I do have stories about UMassholes, though.

James Madison is phenomenal of course. And a bunch of Asylumites live in VA, so that's a whole bunch of people you sort of know off the bat! hah.

And LP is right, everyone will want to fuck you. But that's not necessarily a bad thing, and you're always allowed to fuck them right back lol.

Congrats, btw. I wish I could do my college over again....I'd party way fucking more, and sleep with way more women lol. Don't let my wife see this

UVA just launched a 16.4 million dollar grant program called AccessUVA, or something like that, that pays 100% for any student accepted whose family income is less than 200% of the federal poverty level. It's a loan-free program, paid with grants that never have to be paid back. They've also taken some of the funding and put caps of 25% of cost of attendance over 4 years on need based loans for everyone else and meets all needs above that amount with grants. Excellent program. I wish all colleges would run programs like this. I may end up taking a trip up to Charlottesville to check out UVA some time this month. Although up and moving 3 hours away from all of my family support isn't something that's easy to do with a 3 yr old.
