A friend of mine just found out she may not be able to join the PeaceCorps this summer because she recently contracted HPV. I know a few other chicks with HPV, a couple people who have had mild STDs and all that, but no one that's ever had AIDS or anything serious (at least that I know of).

I had a roommate once, she liked to abuse men. she was cute with blonde hair to her ass. she liked to lead guys on for a bit, have them dump money and affection on her then she would be nasty and abusive. one guy, a really nice guy was getting the brunt of her bullshit and one day he was sitting on my couch all weepy and hurt pouring his heart out to me, so i dropped her venereal wart medicine on his lap and told him he wasnt missing out on anything good.

That was probably kinda fucked up of me, she wasnt telling the men she was fucking though...and that's really really fucked up.

What they teach in sex ed is really funny. They take the most extreme examples and portray them as a basic reality. "Get herpes and your penis will fall off. End of story." It's hardly noticeable, really and I don't regret catching it. It makes it easier for me not to stray.

even as guarded as I am of something precious to me, anyone who is a passionate romantic, can fall under our own spells and put ourselves in shit situations by not insisting on a condom. I am lucky that my sexual blunders haven’t ended with me having some gross festering of illness between my legs, but it was mere luck and not some shining testament to my good judgment or responsible behavior. I've lost friends to AIDS (all straight) and have friends that are HIV positive. I don't want to go into details but when you watch your 31 year old best friend shrivel into a 4 stone weakling and die, it sort of brings home the fact that promiscuous unprotected sex is a big fucking no.
