2000

Gosh. I remember going into kindergarten one morning in January and telling everyone "Happy new millennium!", only to be told by my father that it was only 1980; I was 20 years early (21 if you want to be pedantic, which I usually do ).

Didn't take nearly so long to hit 2000 posts.

In any case, I don't want to put up a list of people. I'd certainly forget someone who I wanted to mention, and I don't wish to cause offense. Plus, we just had the Oscars, and we're all sick of it. Everybody here has said something interesting at some point, and I have learned and grown a good deal since I came here.

One of the most wonderful things about the Asylum for me is that it seems like we have one of everything. I haven't yet found any other single place where I can hear so many perspectives put forth and discussed, and I revel in it.

I don't buy into the whole "It's the internet, so it doesn't matter" thing. Communication here is real communication, and it can have real effects. The pen is mightier than the sword; what power, then, is in the cursor?

I love you all, and I love this place. May it forever prosper, and may we all grow with it.
