I can really identify with the part about the online rut. I thought that incessant fiction reading was a bad habit, but it's nothing compared to the massive time suck of the internet.

Also, I wish I lived on a farm.

I've been thinking about you lately, Frank.

I made myself disconnect from the net after checking messages this morning, and I stayed outside all day working hard. I came in to find out that Matt had called. I went to the beer store and called him just now, and this time I was kinda annoyed with him and let him know it and let him know to email me if he has anything to say. I feel a lot better for having worked today and not sat online. Now I'm gonna get drunk and goof off and be pissed at my EX (thank you God for gettin me outta that). I don't wanna get in a relationship again for at least five years. Jesus, it's nice to just have a dog to deal with.

what're you thinkin about me, puddin?

I planted I don't know how many cabbages and Brussels sprouts today, and I disced the vineyard again so that I can plant the potatoes tomorrow. I also moved the implements AND the old pickup off into the first paddock and mowed quite a bit around the place. I'm pretty sore from raking the garden, and I like that a lot. I have to thank Gregor and David Leslie (there are way too many Davids in my life at the moment.) for having put up with me and then gently encouraged me to get offline a bit.

It's not exactly being online, however. It's what I do with that time. Gregor suggested I read some of Blake's "Proverbs From Hell" to cheer me up and give me somethin to chew on. I can get that online; that sort of thing is a good use of the net for me. Posting here and working on my website is creative use of time, if I'm putting thought actively into those things and trying to add stuff to what's going on. It's certainly more interactive than watching TV all night. But nothin beats doin stuff around the house and around the farm for havin a restorative effect on my spirits.

More than a few things. Among them, that I almost always find your writing very comforting. I've been contemplating exactly why. It goes farther than your style.

Hey. I said "comforting," not "carnal." Except for that one story. You know the one. Face it Frank, deep down you're a wholesome, nurturing preudomme.
