84 years old. Sounds like he had a good life.
I don't think alot of people can appreciate what it means to be a master craftsman
back in those days. I watched that Jessie James show on Discovery Channel where he built that bike out of copper and rode with Kid Rock. Anyway,he pulled a seat from an old fighter plane and explained that he could never compare to the master craftsmen that hammered and riveted this seat in shape. Then he mentioned that the quality of workmanship on this seat was superb and they had to make alot of these. And that was just the seat.
My grandfather on my wifes side had some good stories. Some tall tales,but good stories nevertheless. My grandfather on my side was the same way.
