Hey, congrats on the purchase! Just how much is an increase "out the ass" anyway? And does it hurt?
Just kidding... thanks also for directing me to this forum. My welcome was, ummm, warm! Hahaha.

we added square footage to ours (as much as they would let us, which wasn’t all that much) its onl;y about 2,400 square feet but it is very open and bright.
we are about a half mile off the line with Portsmouth, which is where we would do our shopping, here are some pictures i look when we were scouting:
very necessary as an American that i have a one stop shop for:

When you build yours, please don't pick the bright brass fixtures like they have in the model. The 80's and 90's are over and so is the look of bright brass.
Cool archways. Doorways with character = win.

its funny you mention that, the door knobs come standard brass and they have no "door knob package" to choose from, given a choice we chose brushed nickel for fixtures, i will change out the chandelier in the dining area as well because its brass and all the other choices they had sucked as well.
The door ways do rock, as does the cathedral ceiling in the great room, it’s a fantastic entrance (to me anywho)

It's also got some great natural lighting going for it. Those hardwood floors have to go, though.

They sure murdered a buch of trees to scalp those lots. Other than its utter barrenness, it looks like a prime location. Might be pleasant in 20 yrs, when folks plantings have gotten some size.
At least you shouldn't have much of a flooding problem. How high is that cliff? Looks to be about 30 feet.
[edit] Not meaning to put down your choice at all, 4b - on re-reading I can see it sounds that way. I like trees, hate to see developers scrape a site clean that way, although I understand the reasons they do.

There is no cliff, my property line just goes like that, and there are more trees there than might appear, you cant see through them to the water as it stands, those pictures may have been taken in the fall or winter. but dont you worry, im bringing friends from this yard over to that one.
