only if "free" means countries that have active immigration programs and would actually take vietnamese refugees.

I like to work with the "Sub for Santa" program. I used to do it a lot when I lived near the big city. I always made sure our store had a great toy and clothes drive for the needy at Christmas time. I also tried to go out with the folks delivering the stuff to the families. There were a lot of "gently used" coats, boots, etc. that were handed out. A lot of the stuff a good portion of today's youth wouldn't wear because it's "used."

I think we treat our country in similar fashion. What we sometimes criticize as being used or worn is the greatest gift that most immigrants could have. It's a step up from where they were and full of new opportunities.

I agree with your main point, but I don't think that "today's youth" is any more unappreciative than their parents were. In every generation there are those who appreciate what they've got and those that take it for granted.

Today's youth don't generally work as hard for their things.
I mean even food when we spend alot of money on food, even those on limited or no income don't starve like they do in other countries.
That's why everyone flocks here.
Seriously if we wanted to end world hunger and stuff,America should start invading the rest of the world.
