Plan your holiday like this: Greece, Spain, France, UK, Australia, USA.
Greek officials are easy to bribe, you could maybe pick up a US visa there. If not, try Spain, etc.

Problem is, slight, it doesn't matter what country he is in. To get a US visa he still has to deal with the US embassy. No 3rd party nation is empowered to issue visas to the US.

^^ yea, but it was the embassy in Tel Aviv that knocked him back. The Embassy in Athens would be a little more relaxed, I would think.

Of course, if you make it as far as Sydney, you wont want to stay in the US anyway. =)
