Turkish sheep die in 'mass jump'

Turkish shepherds watched in horror as hundreds of their sheep followed each other over a cliff, say Turkish newspaper reports.

First one sheep went over the cliff edge, only to be followed by the whole flock, according to the reports.

More than 400 sheep died in the 15-metre fall - their bodies cushioning the fall of 1,100 others who followed.

The sheep belonged to villagers in the eastern Van province. Papers say the sheep were worth around Ł42,000 in all.

"Every family had an average of 20 sheep," one villager told the Aksam daily newspaper.

"But now only a few families have sheep left. It's going to be hard for us.

Is nothing sacred to terrorists....first new york, then spain, then london and now the poor turkish sheep. Its obvious we need to send some troops there next and drop some bombs on somebody to protect the sheep for democracy.

Umm, they really can't do math though.

400 sheep died, 1100 survived. If each family had an average of 20 sheep, that is 5 x 15 = 75 families. If 400 died, that's 20 families that no longer have sheep, and it's doubtful that any families lost (though possible) all of their sheep. Sure it's a disaster, but it's not "now hardly any families have sheep left." Classic overreaction bullshit. Concentrate on the good guys.
