No, you'll end up like lanin with the eternal headache of insecurity and praying to crows. I personally prefer whistling pigs, they aren't sarcastic or snickering when telling you your future.

More Travis than Luke, though.

Only I'm not idealistic in a "change the world" sort of way, and I'm not anti-social (rather, just not very social).

Part of what I was alluding to was the Nietzschean idea of the fate of human societies (or was it the underlying reality?), with an elite group of intellectuals conquering the rest of humanity and becoming "Lords of the Earth", not for any political or religious purpose, but just as an end in itself; for fun.

It would only be a matter of time before they got tired of killing and enslaving people, and they would even get tired of planet Earth, so the logical thing they would then do is work on a spaceship, so as to continue exploring, conquering, and having fun- on an infinite number of new worlds.

This isn't the real me; rather it is just a part of myself that I uncovered during my search for me. It might be a part of every man and woman.

Hope that helps.

You want to explore that concept well, in fictional form? Go read S. M. Stirling's "Draka" series of novels, in order.

You build up my hopes, and then slay my dreams. Not only are they out of stock, but no design shows the enchantment of penis powers being used to help good boys and girls.

The non-fiction is much better.

There are no maps to that territory. The best you can do is prepare yourself by studying the contingencies imagined by others, as well as yourself.

Thank God we won't end up like Goedile.....capable only of being critical of others efforts. Most of us here have had the balls to post our thought's or random musings.............I see no blog from Goedile?

Plum, I appreciate what you have to say, I may not always agree with what you say.........But I respect that you speak your mind.

Balls have nothing to do with it. It's about desperation. You cast out your thoughts willy nilly in the hopes of snaring your own private confidant. Someone to act as diviner into the mystery of yourself; as if to be analyzed gives you worth. Until one steps up,you snatch tidbits you can scrape from the masses and quilt them together to make something to ward off the cold.

Besides, an audience is an audience.

Ah.....you're one of the self important educated kids that haunt this place. While mommy and daddy's cup runneth over you can afford to think like that and continue spinning your pseudo elegant bullshit until someday hopefully you'll charge people for the priviledge of listening to it.

Good luck with that

no reason:

"There were car gods there: a powerful, serious-faced contingent, with blood on their black gloves and on their chrome teeth: recipients of human sacrifice on a scale undreamed-of since the Aztecs"

edit: lanin, internet its serious business
