Don't talk and drive

Apparently, my girlfriend was in a wreck today.. Her friend was driving and talking to her boyfriend on the cell phone and she ran off the road, into a ditch, and crashed into a telephone pole. They weren't hurt, but were a little shaken up. The car, on the other hand, was heavily damaged (maybe totalled depending on who was telling me).

I think that there was more to the situation than that, but no more info was provided... and one of my sources (the driver's boyfriend) isn't being very forthcoming. He apparently promised not to tell about it. Damn.

Oh well. I'm just happy nobody was hurt. But this just once again illustrates the evils of car phones.

I'm glad your girlfriend is alright. Car phones are the epitome of all evil. My mother nearly was killed in a car accident where the car who hit her was busy talking away on her phone. :/

I was sideswiped 6yrs ago while driving my motorcycle by a 30 something driving a white mustang coupe. The last thing I saw before eating the asphault was her looking the other way and talking on her cell in that shoulder scrunch position. She denied it to police at the scene but later admitted it to her insurance company.

I have a very grotesque left hip. Bitch.

I could have sworn I heard some guy yelling into a phone today, "I'M DROPPING YOU, BITCH! FOR ALL I CARE YOU CAN DRIVE RIGHT OFF THE ROAD INTO A DITCH AND INTO A TELEPHONE POLE!"
