I found this on the OpenCD.

Celestia is a realtime (sort of) 3-D model of the universe. The base install contains pretty much just the solar system and the nearest stars, but you can get addons for all kinds of things (including Star Destroyers in Earth orbit). You can zoom in on any object in its catalogue, track its orbit, advance time and so forth. If you leave it in realtime you can see what your location looks like from space right now.

Obligatory screen shot is attached.

I have yet to get tired of looking at this. For me, it was really kind of shocking to realize how really, really big the solar system is and how far apart everything is.

Thought some of you might appreciate it too. That is all.

i mean if the world is turning, shouldn't it be like say an airplane goes up, stay where it is for a while, then comes down and it should be in a different place since the world is turning...
or more basicly i jump and the place i land should be different from the place i have originally jumped from..
