Well, considering I've known her for 8 years now and never gotten any from her, I'm pretty sure the celebate thing isn't bullshit. Especially since I've seen her turn down plenty of guys much more attractive than me. It's more to do with her personal issues than any moral belief, but she's stuck with it long enough for me to believe she means it. Even if she doesn't, she's made it pretty obvious she has no interest in having sex with me.

You said you feel different about her this time, but your title is "Why do I keep doing this to myself?". Do you think you're likely to develop deeper attraction to her this time around?

I see nothing wrong with being good friends with someone, even someone you've had crushes on before. I have a couple of friends of that variety myself, although I acknowledge it's best if I don't spend too much time around them. If you feel comfortable and happy with her, and not just because you're hopeful deep down that she will fall in love with you, then I say enjoy your friendship with her.

Yeah, pretty much. It's mostly because even though I feel differently, I'm acting the same. Mostly it annoys me how I act around her. Sometimes I believe that I should never be happy, because even the slightest happiness makes me incredibly stupid.

That said, if what you mean is a sexless relationship probably isn't worthwhile, well, you might have a better argument. I'd still probably disagree, but you'd be on firmer ground.

And while I do understand that some guys will convince themselves that they've got a relationship with a girl who won't give them the time of day (every girl I know will say she has at least one stalker), this isn't the case here.

And, as I said, there's no relationship beyond friendship between us anymore, so it doesn't matter.
