I think what she's saying is that there is no direct positive, in the sense that once cannot be "heveled" rather than "disheveled", "sipid" instead of "insipid", "hap", or "ruth" vs. "hapless" and "ruthless".
One can manly vs. unmanly, or natural vs. unnatural, but not sipid vs. insipid.

Not according to my small, desktop dictionary. Nor can one be "peccable."

One most certainly may be peccable.
Peccable
Adj. 1. peccable - liable to sin; "a frail and peccable mortal"- Sir Walter Scott

Also, insipid comes from the word sipid, meaning flavorful or tasty.
Sip´id
a. 1. Having a taste or flavor savory; sapid.

"ruth" is used on its own, albeit infrequently. "compassion or pity for another".

This thread confuses me.
It’s just a game for people who enjoy words.
There are a lot of negative words in English that have no obvious corresponding positive word. As a couple of the contributors have pointed out, sometimes the corresponding positive word is obscure or archaic. “Ruthless” and “ruth” or “ruthful,” “insipid” and “sapid,” “impeccable” and “peccable” as examples. Sometimes the positive word is not obvious. “Adept” is the opposite of “inept,” and the opposite of “innocuous” is “noxious.”
English is full of these fun words. Some of them are INANE, but they leave me DISGRUNTLED and NONPLUSSED, just the same.
