I met a girl some time ago, and we became good friends. In many ways, we were the same, but we didn't like the same guys. One time, a certain guy liked me, and I liked him. She didn't know...2 weeks later, he came up to me and said "Sara, oh my God, I am in love with you," so I kind of looked at her and said "Oh, okay..."

But she didn't like that. I don't know why, but we didn't stay friends.

So now the same thing is happening, but this time I don't know if I can act as if I don't mind. Yesterday, all day, she was telling me that I could have somebody else, that the other guy was already in love with me, so I answered that I didn't love the other guy, I love *this* one.

Please help...I din't want to lose her, but I don't want to lose him either.

If I got that wrong, sara, please let me know.

Anyway--as long as you are sure that you aren't specifically trying to take someone she is interested in just to keep her from having him, then I'd say that there's nothing wrong with pursuing the guy you are interested in. Just because one man likes you is no requirement that you should stay with him.

That said...can you be sure that you aren't competing with her?
