samba, CUPS, & network printing
I have got a Dell a920 all-in-wonder that I want to set up as a network printer.
Right now I have it attached to the CENTOS box via USB. I installed the Linux drivers (it is a rebranded Lexmark, so Lexmark's z600 drivers work) and I can print from the local machine.
I set it up in samba as a shared printer and at first I could not get it to print from the windows box. Right now it works if I set the print driver to "Generic / Text Only." If I set it to "Dell A920" on the windows box, then when I try to print I get this error: "Printing failed when starting the document."
If I change various options in the printer setup (in XP) then sometimes nothing happens whatsoever...
What gives? Is this supposed to be set up via samba at all, or just via CUPS somehow?
