Retreats are due by Saturday 8 PM PST. Following the retreat, there will be more moves, then another round of SC assignments and builds/disbands.

I would like to remind everyone that when a unit is dislodged, you have the option of retreating or disbanding it. If you disband it, you may have the option of rebuilding it after the next fall season (assuming you don't lose overall SC numbers). If you chose to retreat, you can retreat to any adjacent empty space that the unit typically can move to (ie no armies in the ocean or fleets inland) EXCEPT the territory from which the dislodging army originated (VIE, in this case) OR a territory in which there was a stand off between two or more armies. We didn't have any bounces here, so there isn't anything to illustrate with, but this does occur sometimes. Just a reminder is all, this has all been explained and is in the rule book.

After the retreats, the next move deadline will be Wednesday, August 2, 8 PM PST.

I think that the rules of the game are pretty well in hand, fundamentally at least. Any comments on the game thus far from the players? Impressions, opinions, comments, suggestions? Anyone having fun or regretting the decision to play?

Russia retreats to Ukr after interrupting the love affair between Turkey and Italy. Who will Turkey stay in bed with? Will he defend Italy against Russia now that he has diplomatic pretext? Does he acknowledge Russia's anger as that of a jilted lover and allow it to evolve unpunished? Or was it a ruse from the beginning, to have Russia take out Italy so Turkey could honestly promise never to attack Italy?

Sorry for the delay. Put the little one last night but ended up staying down myself.

As for the Pacific Coast time zone, I use that because that’s the zone I’m most familiar with. If you want to use 11 PM other coast time, that’s fine with me (assuming 11pm east coast = 8 pm west coast). The deadline is Noon Japan time, which is easy for me, both to remember and to adjucate.
