Santa is coming. That gives me joy. It gives me even greater joy that Hawley will get a coal this year.

I realized long ago that the the source of pretty much all the negativity and depression in my life could be traced to other people's mental frames- how they choose to judge others, themselves, and life in general. If I stripped my psychological landscape of all those idiotic frames, there was nothing but love, excitement, warmth, passion, and pride.

This explains why I'm generally antisocial. I am so not in other people's zones. And so long as I can keep paying my bills, I have absolutely no use for them.

more likely the source is your chosen reaction to said people's mental frames.

Modern mental frames that become dominant and spread like viruses in society tend to be inherently negative and depressing. Life wasn't always a barrage of mundane paperwork, complacency, servility, consumerist conformity, etc. It is generally a minority of people who are aware of just how scripted their lives are and how much they're being controlled by social, economic, and political forces.

Getting back to the original topic: it's become apparent to me lately how much the essence and meaning of life lies in not just intellectual adversity, but the embracing of and passion for it. It's the plunging into intellectual hell and the enjoyment of doing so. That is real living, and its where human greatness, for what it's worth, blossoms. All life flourishes on a battlefield; wherever there is comfort and complacency there is dying and death. If it were otherwise, then we would be immortal, and be living in a complete daze. This isn't sadistic though- if you cleanse it of all external criteria-all fear, pain, and inhibition- and plunge into the void of living yourself, it becomes clear that there's nothing more natural to the human condition.

You don't have to keep reminding me that I'm a misanthropic bitch. I'm already well aware of the fact, and have no desire to change.

Pic please - I'm not getting a visual when I see "misanthropic bitch" on the screen.

I do hear a squeaking noise in the corner, though...

Ta da! You're just like Santa, almost. Close enough that I'll be directing L_F to take his list of unlikely wishes to you for servicing. heh

Pretty sure I do. *closes eyes and concentrates* Yeah. Definitely.
