I just voted too, and they did switch to the electronic doohickeys. Last year they had the lever machines in private booths. This year I walked in and it's just a coridoor with an array of 8 of these things:

Fanned out. Not very private. I could see who the people in front of me were voting for, and the people behind me could see mine. And, when you're done with your ballot, this right button not on the screen but on the top of the iVotronic starts bleeting and flashing red, making it nearly impossible to NOT look up everytime that happens.
Otherwise, the machines were ridiculously easy to use, just touch screen MegaTouch style. Though there's a weird feeling when you just finish and that's it. Nothing gets printed, nothing makes a satisfying "ca-chunk" noise, it just flashes back to the default screen. I'm a latent Luddite anyway, so it was sort of unsettling. "Well, I hope those iVotronic computer programmers have somehow avoided the problem of making a computer that fucks up occassionally, like every single other computer on earth." Somewhere in the guts of the bizarro machine, sure hope everything's fair and square, my vote gets added, and the machine gets downloaded and counted correctly.
Course, I'd never know it if it didn't, and apparantly have no right, or ability, to confirm or find out. But, I'm sure the programmers and iVotronic board members and election officials and Secretary of States are all flawlessly competent and trustworthy people, and I should just not bother my pretty little head about such things, right?
Right?
