L.A.P.D. on the hot seat again

The wonderful L.A.P.D. is AT IT AGAIN.

Cops say he's a gang member that resisted arrest.
The cops are on desk duty until the investigation ends.

Granted, the video is out of context but I have a hard time believing that this guy was still resisting enough to deserve a few punches in the face.

Thoughts?

Ok, first this is put out by COPWATCH. I dont know if any of you had actual lives when you were a teenager but I did and I went out with COPWATCH kids a lot and it is what it sounds like...a bunch of kids giving cops a hard time for doing their job. So they are gonna put up shit that makes cops look bad...

All I see is a guy who is not on his stomach, and who is grabbing the officers leg trying to dislodge himself from that control position...oh yeah, and hes saying he cant breath. And I think we all know, again, from our youth, that when someone says they cant breath they most surely can.

LA cops are terrible, but so are the people of LA. I mean, where do you think these guys come from in the first place?

Well, if a cop had his knee on my neck and I couldn't breathe, I'd fight back too.

The video is from a bystander that the cops did not know was filming the arrest after seeing the first part of what was going on.

The operative words are "couldn't breathe". Yes, it would be resisting, but the police do not have the right to restrict your airway and hit you in the face in order to arrest you. Anyone who is being choked is going to struggle back - it's just a natural reaction.

They cannot deprive you of breath just for you eluding them. The gist of the story from witnesses and his lawyer is that he did not struggle after being taken down until the cop put his knee on his neck and cut off his breath. Of course, the video doesn't show the whole chase and takedown, so where the truth lays is in question in this case.

By the way, sleeper holds, which used to be used by police, have been ruled illegal because it sometimes leads to choking the suspect to death from strangulation. Extrapolate from that, asshole.

Personally, I do not have a problem with police using physical force to arrest someone, as long as the force used is reasonable and proportionate. When cops continue to beat a suspect after he is on the ground and no longer fighting or a risk to the officer's safety is where I draw the line. I have been on the end of that scenario before, and I would have sued the pants off the policeman if it hadn't been for the incompetence of the attorney I went to.

Well, you all know my veiw on cops. Those fellas should be drug out into the street and hoss whipped.

I belive when a cop breaks the law their sentance should be doubled whatever the average joe gets because they are given guns and entrusted to uphold the law. Of course all of their pig buddies will lie for 'em. Have you ever noticed when a citizen has a camera, cops will run 'em off? These fuckers have forgotten that they are public servants and I think cops should quit getting federal funding. Make them go door to door for funds and let them see what the public they're supposed to defend really think of them. Perhaps they'd leave the average guy alone(like me) and concentrate on pedos and douchebags that really need to be locked up.
