I'm not going to get it, but what I'd really like is the laser turntable that costs $15,000.

I want a Canon 5d camera. I don't think Santa is going to whip out 3200 bucks for me, though.

I just want another watch really but I really don't want anything this year. I've already gotten my 500 gig external...that's all I really wanted...and a tazer gun.
But I have a good friend originally from Guana Africa that wanted Guana music. So I burned him up a few.
This dude knows 6 languages and will do anything for you.
In fact this year my gift giving will be in the form of music. It's gonna be oh kay.

All I ever ask/hope for is the continued affection and tolerance of my loved ones.
And wool socks.
I'll get the rest myself.

a paperfed scanner.
I'm cutting the bindings of all my textbooks (about 800 lbs worth) and turning them into pdf files. having my library on an external drive makes so much more sense when travelling a lot on the job.
moving that many books to a new location once a year is a royal pain.

it is a little know fact that in iceland, the are no physical fights of any kind. when differences in opinion emerge, weapons are compared for aesthetic value and coolness factor and the winner peacefully pronounced.

when it comes to defense, a good pair of running shoes are always better than a knife.

Okay, I didn't read all the speacs on the DREAD, so maybe these have been addressed, but I do have a couple of questions. If the thing is spinning fast enough that it is effectively slinging its projectiles out at enormous speeds, I see two potential problems.
1) Wouldn't that generate a rather large gyroscopic effect? In other words, if you're carrying this on a vehicle and try to turn, won't it fight that ratehr hard? It would be even worse in an aircraft. I guess you could mitigate that by putting in a counter-rotating counterpart in the same device.
2) If I understand correctly, in order to accurately place rounds on target, given that the barrels are spinning around a 360 degree arc, you would have to time the projectile release extremely accurately. If you're spinning fast enough to sling these things at 8000 fps, those barrels have to be going at centrifuge speeds, it seems to me.
If you have a failure in the software or hardware which controls the release timing, this thing is going to be spraying lead indiscriminately over the whole battlefield. whatever controls the release timing had better be one hell of a reliable item.
I wonder how much power the thing consumes.
I'm sure that the engineers who designed it have addressed these issues, and it is a neat concept.
