When I was young I used to read about the decline of Western civilization, and I decided it was something I would like to make a contribution to. — George Carlin

I fail to understand how someone who thinks the world needs a good old fashioned epidemic is worried about the pain and injury caused to any human, child or otherwise.
Especially when this child shows nothing but disdain and disrespect for everyone. Though I suppose I left that last part out.
And I never said that the reason this kid was an idiot was because she went to public school, though I believe that in this case it probably is true. That, and the fact that her mother is an idiot.
I'm not trying to say that everyone should homeschool. And I'm not trying to say that homeschooled kids are automatically better than public school kids.

I'd like to point out that I don't believe this to be the reason you're a dumbass, Rosh.

I'd say that the quality of home school probably varies based on the quality of teaching available. Most (but certainly not all) public school systems are pretty bad. More often than not, you'd probably be right that home school is better, if for no other reason than the type of parent who home schools their kids is generally the type that actually cares enough to teach their kids not to do stupid things. This isn't a failing of the public school system (and I admit most have got plenty as it is) so much as a failing of many parents who put their kids into public schools. On top of that, sometimes you just have stupid kids, regardless of how they're educated.
As I said at the outset -- your example doesn't do anything to prove that home schooling is better. Though I admit that assessment is probably true in most cases anyway.

We are totally agreed on that point.

I wasn't trying to prove anything, but my experience is that if families aren't homeschooling for religious or incestuous reasons, the kids are far more likely to think things through or heed advice far more readily than the public school kids I know.
I was a Dallas public school kid. I wish I had been homeschooled. And not for religious or incestuous reasons.

You're probably right, but like I said, it's probably not the education, but the quality of the parenting in those cases. Though, of course, with home schooling, it's sometimes hard to separate the two.

Stick to your story, fubar - they can't prove nothin' different. heh

Just the very idea that she used the word retard set me off. And the "issues" she had I only wished I had her problems.
But then again, her enviroment was at a public school setting so were in different worlds.
