I think by the time you got to trial back then, there would be little point in saying anything!

The area I live in was infamous for witch trials. Matthew Hopkins the 'Witchfinder General' was based in Chelmsford, which is only twenty minutes from where I live.
In my village there is still the tree that they used to hang convicted witches from!
