This was local, for example.

How they got caught may be the stupidest thing in the history of criminality, but without it, those people would presumably still be in prison.

Mind you, that still wouldn't mean that even those guys should have been sniped at.

Upon thinking about it, it's my lack of exposure to professional acting cops. I've dealt with way to many asshole cops (all under six feet). There are some that I do like. Rocky Wilson, when he was a county cop, would cruise by the Pinecreek Tavern and anounce where he would be and for how long so he wouldn't have to give any of us a DUI. He's cheif of Pinehurst police now. Steve Burg, retired now, would just take your drunk ass home instead of driving all the way to the county jail. Cops that aren't out to get people and serve the community are good cops. The little peckerheads they put out on the street these days are just overzelous pricks looking for a bust.

Cops get away with too much. When a citezen breaks the law, they get aressted. When a cop breaks the law, they get suspention with pay and the charge is dropped 99% of the time. I think cops should be held at a higher standard. The public entrusts them with guns to "serve and protect" so they should have a better grasp of the law and when they break it, double the charge.
