It wasn't his best. But he has done enough good stuff for me to get the new album.

There were afew songs on his last that was worth listening to.

i thought it was absolutely horrendous, i couldn't help feeling that the songs had all be written, performed and produced by a self proclaimed pop music expert and some corporate marketing department.

pop expert: kids today want edge!
marketing drone: oh yeah we can do that
drone 2: yeah edge has great dollar value attached to it
pop expert: lets make fun on cheerleaders!
drone 1 and 2 in unison: YAAAYYYY!

Yea. I actually think that he takes risks and changes his approach every album, sometimes it just doesn't work. I think a lot of the stuff on Golden age was done with a lot of irony, it just didn't come off that way.

i listened to the entire thing at work, with intros by manson about how/why he wrote the tracks. it's atrocious. for one, every single fucking track is slooooow. also, his new guitarist is shit- he's all about the 80's guitar riff and the whammy bar. it sounds so stupid. and then there's manson, talking about why he wrote each track, and it's all bullshit. you can tell that he didn't mean any of it and the lyrics are tripe pop crap.

if he'd stop fucking vacuous trash and pay attention to his music maybe he'd actually produce something decent.

All that doesn't matter to me. Who wrote what or if it's pop and not " real ". I just let myself like what I like and try not to defend it. I like all kinds of pop crap. I just like it, if it makes me feel good or amuses me in some way I listen to it. I like stuff from KMFDM to Duran Duran, it doesn't make sense but I don't think that it has to.


A lot of Mansons music sounds good to me and his image is amusing and over the top, what I like about rock. I think a lot of the respected rock " artist ' suck ( like Neil Young ). I just accept it for what it is.
