Some advice from the female side here. When I'm interested in a guy, I try to spend more time around him and talk to him moreso than usual, but not to the point of being glued to him 24/7. I'll also start asking him to do little casual things with me, like going to shows or clubs or stuff like that. I also get more "touchy" with them, but not excessively. I guess I'm a little too subtle though, cause they never seem to pick up on it.

Most girls are insatiable flirts. Meaning they can't get enough attention to satisfy themselves. Therefore, most telltale signs by a woman (eye contact, playing/fixing hair, touching you in a friendly manner and laughing at your stupid jokes) can be misconstrued because they are being flirtatious to satisfy their own need for attention.

But, there are plenty of women who still use those techniques to let guys know that they're interested, so look for the signs. If you suspect that she might like you, be honest and talk to her. If people would just communicate more with the opposite sex alot of the anxiety with dating or starting a relationship would disappear. You will get turned down, but they will appreciate your honesty. (Of course that's if you like her too)

There isn't a specific sign that is utilized by all girls/women. Where one woman might be showing affection for you by placing her hand on yours, another may barely notice she is even doing it. We all have different comfort levels when it comes to the way we interact with the opposite sex (hell, even the same sex).

It's important to be aware of her personality when she's talking to you and to other people. Just b/c she may act differently around you then *other women* have acted, doesn't mean she is acting differently then she does around other men.

Am I making any sense here?

If you have doubts you should ask her. I flirt constantly with everyone, men and women alike. And because of that I make sure that I am very clear when I do like someone. I have no problem coming right out and saying it, although I know everyone isn't as comfortable with that approach.
