Not uncommon here either. I live on the corner of two fairly busy streets, even though it is a residential neighborhood with a speed limit of 35. Two years ago a police patrol sgt, in a plain sedan, ran the light right in front of my apt and broadsided a lady in an older station wagon. No lights, no siren, going about 60.

There is some justice, sometimes - he got very physically fucked up, and brain damaged. Then the police disability insurance company refused to pay, as he was off duty, and not responding to any call.

You gotta feel bad for the old timers but Jesus Christ have some dignity when you realise that driving is just not for you anymore. Get rid of your license and get rid of your car. Call the short bus to take you around.
You are now a fucking re.a.d.
There's this restaurant here called Wishbone serves the best damm chicken anywhere the gravy to die for and like all the senior citisens go here to eat. They have the most dangerous parking lot in the world. Imagine a senior citisen manuver around a parking lot. Now imagine 50 at the same time.
Your not safe anywhere there.
There was another time when this road was closed to one lane and there's no left turn allowed to this street on the left cause it would stop traffic cold.I mean there's signs everywhere saying this and a traffic cop helping us all out. Then this old lady when the light turned green tried to take that left turn. EVERYONE is honking at her and the traffic cop is signing her frantically to go fucking straight. What does she do?
She turns left right into a car going the other way.
It was fucked up,man.

There's got to be a better way of dealing with the old people problem that doesn't endanger everone else. Cyanide, perhaps?

And BTW Baci, the dude that took off probably had a warrant and wanted nothing to do with the cops that were most assuredly on their way to the scene. I've done that before.

That is not your typical 'hit and run'. I wonder if the guy in the truck had been drinking or something and didn't want to chat with the police, or what Crika said.

What do the cops do in a case where the 'hitee' takes off like that?

It is still leaving the scene of an accident, and in most states it is a felony. Whether or not it gets prosecuted is an entirely different question.

That is a rather minor thing compared to a felony, if by some ridiculous twist of fate Simon is right.

With a dead body under a tarp in the bed of the unregistered stolen truck. A dead body packed full of coke.
