Excellent read. A prime example of what America has become because of how Americans have decided to act with their money. If you're someone like me, you like how the future looks, you like how right now looks, and I'm hoping a few more people start using their brains when it comes to how they spend (or save, what a concept!) their paychecks.

She was banking easy 5 grand a month. She saved a grand every month whenever she could.
She had a savings when she lost everything and it all went to the house so her fucking kids and grandkids had a roof over their heads. Now that they got a section 8 house they want nothing to do with their mom cause she has too much stuff boo the fuck hoo.
Christ she gave so much to everybody and now that she's the one in need everyone that she helped has turned the cheek.
I'm pretty fucked myself. I closed my 401K that's been brewing for 15 years and we used that to supplement my losing my income from my job. It's been almost a year now and it's fucking gone. God-dammit it's fucking gone.
Easiest way to go in my situation is build another bedroom down here and get another host home guy. That bike building... shit. People gots to have money. No one's called on my truck no more. I may need to drop it down. People just want to steal shit. Everyone's got money problems, man. You see it in their faces at the gas pumps.
Ah hell. Don't worry be happy. I gotta look up. I'm not gonna lose my house. Were doing better than most. I have TWO motored bikes. TWO Goddamn-it.
Sometimes you gotta think about what you have.

Here's her problem: she was raising her kids AND grandkids. The fact that her kids had kids and were still living with her is a warning sign, screaming "family money goes one way down this street." Why couldn't they take care of themselves? They certainly can now.

A balloon payment? How the fuck did you end up with a balloon mortgage, LF? That is like number 2 on the "things to never do" list, right after getting in involved in a land war in Asia.

He used your welfare check and the equity in his home to finance Cronus and MOOP.
He really is a nigger.

I was pressured 15 years ago by my inlaws and everyone to just sign for everyone was looking at the (extremely fucking low house payment I'm actually embarrassed to say with me still being broke all the time) a month house payment.
Property tax is not included so every year we got a refund it went to property tax. You can do that when you got 40 large to put down on a house Thank You Trucking Company for hitting me head on that cold winter night.
Well these past 15 years were just a big assed worry for me. This original owner is a very smart man. He added in the contract that we cannot ever borrow against the house so today there is no goddamn ARM loans or leins against it.
And yea. He legally could just move us out,but he's one in a million.
I talked to him this morning as I gave him his last check. Next week were signing together a 10 year loan on the balloon payment I owe so he still gets his check.
But I think what really saved me is all the empty homes everywhere in this nation. The recession actually saved me. He really never wanted the house back anyway. He just wants his last check. Hell. I gave him a lot of money down 15 years ago.
He's proof that there is still good people out there.
In 10 years that house note will have our name on it. Then every mutherfucker refinance company letter I get will get thrown in the fire unopened.
It was nice not dealing with a bank all these years. No finance charges,no tricks up their fucked up sleeve.
Even this loan is fixed rate,4% interest or some shit.
It's designed to completely be done in 10 years.
I'll be 52 when I have something my kids want.
But you're right,TT. Bad move. I just got VERY LUCKY.
I was so happy today talking to him,I offered to give him Cronus as a token of my appreciation.
Yes. I was ready to just give him my bike and walk home. But luckily again,he wouldn't take it. (thank you god thank you god)

Just for the record, we are not (yet) in a recession. Perhaps your local economy is, but as a nation we are not. The media needs to look the word up before they throw it around.

As a nation, you have been in an recession for decades. Since it is an intellectual recession, the economy was bound to follow when all the new morons ran out of money.

quote: REP. PAUL: I would get rid of the inflation tax, the tax that nobody talks about. We live way beyond our means with a foreign policy we can’t afford and an entitlement system that we have encouraged. We print money for it, the value of the money goes down, and poor people pay higher prices. That is a tax. It’s the transfer of wealth from the poor and the middle class to Wall Street. Wall Street’s doing quite well, but the inflation tax is eating away at the middle class of this country. We need to get rid of the inflation tax with sound money.

Got it? The world's petroprinces evidently do. The limp dollar has prompted a bickerfest between President Bush, who's been urging the OPEC oil nations to produce more oil so prices will fall, and OPEC leaders, who say the problem isn't limited production but the weak dollar and economic woes in the United States.

So yeah, he is onto something.
He also thinks vaccination requirements for public school enrolment are wrong because it denies people the right to die from smallpox and MMR. The invisible hand will obviously take care of disease foRON PAUL.
But the point of what I said was supposed to be a joke to make LF chuckle.

Yes, in order to escape your own current reality, you invent an unlikely future for someone else. It's that sophistication and resolve we have come to associate with Americans the last ten years. Carry the torch, proud troll.

Damn! Ammo is jumping up in price. Less target practice...... I think I'm gonna stockpile some arrows and broadheads, too. That would be wise, methinks.
