In any case, I still wanted to post.

Chantrea, look at the scorecard:

1. I went all over that thread where you attacked assface. Remember, I flamed you about it before. You were NOT attacking just him, you made broad generalizations about all the new SPFers who came over. You blatantly attacked EVERYBODY who was coming over from there. Just because you chose in a subsequent line to single him out does not negate the rest of the generalizations.

2. You DID attack ChikChillin. And I am not holding that against you per se. I think it is wonderful that you two made peace. But you did go off on her right off the bat with little to no provocation. The fact that you made up later proves nothing. The trend is still there. She was new, you didn't like her right off the bat and flamed her not because you KNEW her, not because she was saying objectionable things, but just on pure impulse and basing your attacks only on general attitude. At least when I flame I try to point out logic and facts and not just say "she seems like a bimbo cunt to me, let's get her!"

3. Then you fell in line against PH right in the now locked thread. You say that once you get to know people you don't flame them (in your defense of the CC thing), and while some may take that as a sign that you are in fact a reasonable person, I take it the other way. I say that what it means is that your default setting in dealing with new people is one of hostility, and only by catching you in chat and sucking up to you will you change your mind.

I am not going to make it personal, and I do think you are a nice person and have really no problem with you. But to say that you do not have a hostile attitude towards new women who pass through here just does not gel with what I have observed.

And missphinx, you are right, when you flamed another new person, a guy, people didn't jump all over you. You know why? Because when you did so, 10 other people did not feel the need to gang up on your victim for no other reason then to back you or to have a flame war. It is that that gets to me, when somebody like Princess Heather makes one post asking about her title in what was I considered to be a tounge in cheek manner, and then have 7 different forum females nad 2 males fucking hound her for it for 3 pages. The only other time I can really point to that was similar was when Splat said that Drunk Driving should be Legal. 3 pages of straight flames. You don't see anything wrong with that picture?

Put it another way, if I want to further bolster my Alpha Female arguement (which is kind of at the heart of this matter)...

If you were just today arriving at the Asylum, and had read through every topic in the last 60 days. Who would you more believe would be right off the bat hostile to you? Chantrea, morgana, missphinx, and others, or Wonder, myself, Spooky, and whoever? Try to look at that objectivly and answer me honestly.

Mr.m's thread is one of the few I continued to read when flames started flying.
Other than my own.
I demand the 15 minutes I spent reading it back. Its unfortunate Wonderaz and Chantrea went at each other. I like them both and think they are both very fun. I don’t care for the cartoon porn either, so thats not why. The old schoolers may remember the opinion I posted about the more violent stuff and why I thought jap. men may be angry, and porn is humorous in my opinion anyway. In chat Chantrea always seemed cool with everyone. But like I said, I rarely stick around when flames start flying.

It’s often struck me that (okay, I’m generalising) many of the more vicious jibes on here are made by women to women. I can only speak for myself, but if I get pissed off by something or someone, I immediately lose all powers of rational argument, and respond in an emotional way. Which makes things escalate. I’m not even thinking of “that” thread now. This is something I’ve been pondering on and off for a while. The only posters who have really enraged me from time to time have been women. I get stirred up by subtext (perceived, granted), or a particular phrasing…ie. the “detail”. Women use detail to attack in an obscure manner. Men just don’t get it : “Why do you think she’s a bitch?” “I don’t know, she just is. “ (meaning if I explained the details, you wouldn’t understand anyway and you’d just think I was being irrational… if Sarah was here she’d understand what that look meant” etc etc. )I don’t necessarily believe in your theories about this forum, Paint. I just think it’s women.

somehow this has turned into personal warfare.
and with everyone digging their trenches to retaliate. why is it when paint "hypothosises" why something happens, ppl jump on him as being men against females?
wonder: some of us need to "pop those pills" just to be sane, and not just to be in public. that was in poor taste, even though it was meant as a flame.

i believe with the smaller percentage of females that we have here, we tend to notice what they say more, especially around other females, so it may seem as though there is a "alpha female" syndrome. when really its just the mass amount of flames by the males numbs us to the fact
