Whenever Big T is away I feel like I'm missing a limb. I find distracting myself helps the time go faster ... 8 weeks isn't that long in the bigger picture LF. You hang in there and she'll be home to you in no time.

When Big T started walking someone observed "their first steps are their first steps away from you" I thought that was a bloody depressing thing to say at the time, but with hindsight I think that what they were getting at is that your job as a parent is to get them ready for when they leave home. As hard as that may be, as her Dad, you have to suck it up.

About 27 more hours to go. I tried man to relax but it's like ignoring the very air you breathe around you.

Thursday we get her address so we can write to her.
They tell us if she can get by this first 2 weeks she's gonna make it and get travel plans started.

I've been watching a few video's of what it's like in Great Lakes.
I actually had a GI Jane vision in my head. While it's true that they don't sleep for 48 hours from the moment they touch down it's because of processing aparantly and they do get to sleep but in an upright position so it's not quality sleep.
And now there's some kind of provision that requires 8 hours of sleep so it's been relaxed a little.
It's a lot of book work aparantly along with the trainings.
My little girl is pretty buff for her size I'm proud to say when we were in MEPS the girl table she was in was comparing arms and she beat them with her muscles,can pull off 40 full pushups no sweat.
The video's really helped.

We already got her graduation date! Looks like she's gonna make it thru boot camp. Air fare to Chicago even for one ticket is so much more than just renting a car. It's gonna be about 200 dollars from Wednesday thru Monday in October for a new car with unlimited miles.
15 hours one way no sweat the drive is half the vacation!
We got her first letter today she says she's doing well and the place was nothing like she imagined. She imagined a lot worse so this is good.
This is good.
In about a week she's gonna be shooting off some guns.
I hope she doesn't change too much.

Proud is not the word Muffy. I'm sure you have known with Big T. Just something about this whole military thing I never in a hundred years thought I would experience this type of proud it's rather strange.
I'm seriously contemplating just donating my hair to Locks Of Love already.
I want to look proper around the other Navy Dads at graduation holy shit did I just type that up I'm supposed to be the guy that don't give a flying fuck how everyone sees me.
But now how my daughter sees me is very important to me,especially since she had her hair hacked off,it would be showing support I imagine.

Just my pony tail. It's a good 15 inches at least. Then I'll style my hair for the trip. Then I'll grow it back up again.
I kinda miss it when I get my head massaged when I get a haircut though.
