Are you playing Type II exclusively? if you're playing type I at all I'll fucking sell you cards stupid cheap, man, no kidding.
They remind me of HER and this keeps me from growing as a person, plus, fuck it, I've got my Akroma/artifact/sunburst ass stomper and my no-set-color mysteriously successful stranger-deck; that's all I need. And this lamp.
"I'm a human being, I exist... and if I speak one thought aloud, that thought lives..."
"Delusions... to make you think you have a strength, when you have no strength at all!!! You are nothing, but spindly limbs and a dream, and The State has no use for your kind!!!!"

Set them aside for me. I'm too poor and easy this Sunday morning but I'll make you an offer in the next week.

I heard that it can be pretty cheap to win with poison counters so I wanna try
White is really terrible in for an infect deck it really does not offer anything you cant get in both green and black.
On the cheap green black is really the way you want to go as most of the infect creatures at common and uncommon come in those colors . Plus playing black gives you acess to good removal.
Believe I got a green/white infect premade and mixed it in with everything else and retooled it the other day. Figured green and white infecting with white healery would work.
Gave away most of my black cards to another new player but with my leftover I made a decent black one. Seems to function like a red deck with all the fun of black.
Pred do you use cockatrice at all? Was going to try and replicate my real decks while I'm off today or tomorrow so I can kill Coin and Rokkr.
The last time I played I made a small set of totally counterfeit cards (perfectly balanced, printed with exactitude at the press of the oldschool partner whose couch I was surfing at the time). I used the tattoo on my left leg for the set-symbol and a lot of Flemish masters for the card art. It was a blue, black, white rebel deck; the cards I added were innocuous-seeming rescues and swaps that targeted rebels and clerics with titles like "Sedition" and "The Heresy of Cho Manno".
I was a designer and researcher for RPGs back in the day, wrote some earliy MMORPG flows, I'm still pals with a lot of the White Wolf & Universe gangs; Chaosium hired Daffodil (my old cult) to make their parties all fucked up and crazy at DCon from time to time. RPGs, horror/fantasy, "cosplay" (as the kids these days term it), that sort of thing, have always been on my list. My wife wasn't into it except for MtG, so that was the aspect that remained. I've got a ton of cards I haven't touched in years - the few geeks left in my circle split town a couple of years ago and going to any lengths to meet new gamers is an exercise in pathos that would really put a fine point on my steadily progressive urge to just fucking die already, eh.
One of the requirements of magic is avoiding the question of 'why the hell don't you just print it out and glue it on cardboard, you fucking tool?'
But I guess Cockatrice can remedy some of the guilt. So, what deck should I build, Matt/Rokkr/nerds?
No discard, land destruction, infinite combo or counterspell strategies. /Pussy
Five colors, but emphasizing blue. 4x Paradox Hazes, play them all on yourself. 4x Reality Acid, at least one each of every Honden, as many 'repeaters' as you can cram in there, (like Festering March, Arc Blade, Reality Strobe, fucking Chronomantic Escape), 4x Clockspinning, add Stasis a/o Exhaustion if you feel like being mean. Leaves green for mana production (Search for Tomorrow, Hypergenesis if you're holding a lot of heat or can keep drawing) / land fetches. This can work well with a rescue theme, like Venser, Vedalken Mastermind, Dream Stalker n'shit.

I request you use one of your real decks in cockatrice form because that's what I'm going to do.
Ok I spent about 5 hours editing one deck and building a new one. I guess since I just challenged #1 wizard I shouldn't speak of their strategies. LETS JUST SAY I LOST TWO GAMES AND WON TWO GAMES TONIGHT.
Just gotta trade Jesus a card or two for this bad boy and I'll become unfuckable.
I'm too burned out on magic to upload pictures and videos yet.
As an aside: More enjoyable nerd timesink than Wowcraft because of all the socializing
I played a lot back in MS. I got back into it about 4-5 years ago for a while, until I realized how much I was spending on cards. I downsized to draft only for a while. Spending 12 bucks for an evening of enjoyment was a fair trade. Soon I dropped it due to time constraints.
I did just download the MTG game on Xbox the other day, but I haven't had a chance to play it yet. As I understand it's a fairly neutered version, but it doesn't require as much infusion of capital and I'm looking for something that's time and money light.
I think I also enjoyed the collecting and the deck building more than playing. All my decks were terrible. It was more about the theme than any power curve.
For some reason I always valued upsetting winning conditions over actually winning. I could dominate in multiplayer games, especially, despite/because of that obsessive theme-bug, simply because even players I'd punked the same way again and again would discount me as a threat in the first four turns.
Most players suffer from patternitis - they always use the same #lands in their schemes, think in terms of creature vs creature, model their strategies on the most common kinds of logic. I never had any sympathy for those that complained about red powermongers and such; it's just an opportunity to ignore the 'batter to death' tactic and pretend to putter around while dismantling the rules with weird cards.
