Question for creative people

Okay, I have to choose a topic that would be fun to research. Not for some bullshit report, but for a persuasive research paper. I was thinking of doing why Napster should be legal, or why ESP should exist, but because I'm actually an idiot, and waited for the last moment, those choices are no longer available.

So. Somebody think of something really cool to research. Please?

You could a project about tatoo's and piercings. Write about the progression of tatoos and piercings from rituals performed for religious reasons etc.. to todays mainstream popularity of them.

Interesting topics suggested here. However, you are writing a persuasive essay, correct? Looks like most of these won't help you then. Well, I'm at a blank currently because I've been completing a lengthy paper myself. However, I do remember the persuasive essay I wrote in high school. I was saying that Pepsi was better than Coke, or the other way around, I don't remember. Anyhow, it's a battle that'll rage on for ages. You may also want to talk about Linux vs. Windows, PC vs. Mac, CD vs. mp3...just a few suggestions I guess.

Well, these were all good ideas, but yes, it has to be a persuasive essay, not a report. It has to convince the readers of something.
We have been visited by aliens. ESP does exist. Napster should be legal. Things like that.
It has to be something that I can research too, because I need several sources. And by several, I mean at least a page of sources.

avondale: if you have to do a persuasive essay, and you want to do it on magic, you should do:

magic: it really exists
how modern witches utilize magic to heal the world.

try to convince your teacher that magic exists. now that's a worthy topic.

hmm...persuasive. can it be tongue in cheek, but still in a persuasive format? I always use humor or satire as an out when writing some boring ass term paper.

even though it seems like you have an idea, this topic has given me ideas for the next term paper I have to write.


1. Sex with underage girls or boys is a good thing, and beneficial to society. (Ex. famous authors, politicians, philosophers, etc who just happened to be pedophiles. Great men who were abused as children, etc.)

2. The female of the species MUST be destroyed. Use evil queens, manipulative mistresses, wars started over a woman's love, and sociological evidence about stuff like that.

3. wiccans and magic have always been great threats to society, and should be eliminated.
