Life the universe and everything

Well ok, not quite EVERYTHING...
An argument I once heard tried to find an answer to "The human condition". And it went something like this.
Due to evolution man has extended his conciousness beyond that of animals, and therefore if it were not for a simple 3 way equation might be in danger of dying out. Why? Because mankind has reached a point from where it can abstain from reproduction. In steps nature with the answer in the form of the equation. All things in life can basically be boiled down to 1, 2 or all 3 of these things.
1)Sex: It's great lets face it, and nature likes things to reproduce. This is the top level of the eqation and is always the desired result from the other 2.

2)Money: This isnt restricted to hard cash. Think of it as any sort of currency or exchange, wether it be material or not. It is simply payment.

3)Power: Power, no matter how you look at is has an attractive quality on any scale. It makes you desirable. Humans are on some level all drawn to some kind of power, to possess it is to become an object of desire (See SEX)

Simple really and despite ongoing rhetoric
with my brother, he has yet to debunk this theory.

So there it is people.
Money and/or Power = sex = life.

This in no way explaines the meaning of life in any way. IMHO.
My only argument so far has been that it'd be hard to explain artistic expression with the theory.

Your'e right it all comes down to money.

Sure Decarlo you can boil down human motives to essentially those three things.

I mean people are attracted to money and power...I think Al Pacino said something about this once...

but does it really address the magic of living? The magic of life?

What benefit does a day hiking in the back country give me?
